Jennifer Luiken

Jennifer Luiken, mezzo-soprano, is a respected and sought after performer. Recent engagements include the Charleston and Augusta Symphonies, Hilton Head and Columbia Philharmonic Orchestras, and University of Florida Symphonies. Her opera credits leading roles in The Medium, The Mikado, The Rape of Lucretia, Hansel and Gretel, Amahl and the Night Visitors, Die Fledermaus, Suor Angelica, Gianni Schicchi, Dido and Aeneas, and The Magic Flute. She performs regularly on programs at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival, and has twice toured with the Charleston Southern University Concert Singers to England and Austria/Czech Republic.

Miss Luiken has been a prize winner in the Metropolitan Opera auditions, Mid-Atlantic region of the National Association of Teachers of Singing Artist Auditions, and the Carolina Opera Guild auditions. She earned her Doctorate in voice performance from the University of South Carolina, where she was the recipient of the Carroll Taussig Fellowship in Opera.
