Jessica Hull-Dambaugh is currently the Principal Flutist of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, a position she has held since 2004. She has also spent her summers playing flute and piccolo with the Central City Opera Orchestra in Colorado and is currently an active member of the Charleston Chamber Players. She has most recently appeared as a featured soloist in the 2010 Bar Harbor Music Festival and has performed as part of the 2009 and 2010 Piccolo Spoleto Festivals. Prior to her move to Charleston, Jessica held the position of Principal Flute with the Maryland Symphony Orchestra and performed frequently with the Kennedy Center Opera Orchestra in Washington, DC. Jessica has toured extensively throughout China and the Netherlands, and elsewhere in Europe, South America, and Latin America. She attended the acclaimed Schleswig-Holstein Orchestral Academy in Germany, the Music Academy of the West, the National Orchestral Institute, and the Youth Orchestra of the Americas Orchestral Training Institute. She holds degrees from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, where she was a student of Ken Andrews, and Carnegie Mellon University, where she was a student of Jeanne Baxtresser. Other former teachers include Alberto Almarza, Jennifer Conner, and Robert Bush. She currently maintains an active teaching studio and is an active member of the South Carolina Flute Society Board.
